Judy Bell

is the CEO of Energetic Retail, a collaborative partner in creating an engaging and inspiring experience for shoppers. Prior to this role, she was Group Manager of Creative Merchandising at Target. In her 22 years at the corporation she offered inspiration to presentation, product development, and merchant teams by leading Innovation, Competitor Insights, and Visual Merchandising groups. Employing competitive research she analyzed new retail concepts, and delivered lively oral presentations to over 3,000 internal executives every year. In 2012, Bell received Target's Merchandising Pyramid's Team Leadership award. Active in the design industry, she was voted one of the top ten “Retail Design Influencers” by colleagues nationwide in 2010, and in 2006 was named a “Retail Design Luminary” at the Display and Design Ideas (DDI) Portfolio event. In 1999, she was the recipient of the Retail Visual Design Industry’s coveted Markopoulos Award. Bell has also served on numerous boards in the visual design industry, including National Association of Design Industries (NADI), DDI's Editorial Board, and Planning and Visual Education (PAVE) where she initiated Target’s sponsorship of PAVE’s International Student Design Competition in 2006. She currently serves on the Association for Retail Environments (ARE) Retail Council and their Dream Team.
