We are excited to provide a new and improved website experience for Fairchild Books customers, instructors, and students. 

As of May 16th, 2023, Fairchild Books products—including our printed textbooks with STUDIO, ebooks with STUDIO, and accompanying instructor resources—are available from this website for purchase and exam copy requests. 

All ebook purchases and ebook exam copy requests will be fulfilled by the new Bloomsbury ebook Store in partnership with VitalSource. Fairchild Books remains your resource for high quality publishing and support for Fashion and Interior Design education. 

 

What happened to my account on Fairchildbooks.com?  

If you are an instructor who had an active account on www.fairchildbooks.com prior to May 16th, 2023, your Fairchild Books account details and related content have been migrated to www.bloomsbury.com/fairchildbooks. You should have received email communication with information on how to access your Fairchild Books account and content.  

 

What will happen to the STUDIOs and ebooks that I have purchased?  

If you purchased an ebook with STUDIO prior to May 16th, 2023 from www.fairchildbooks.com that is still within the access period, you will receive email communication with information on how to access your ebook and STUDIO on VitalSource. 

 

Will I lose access to the ebooks and STUDIOS that I purchased before May 16th, 2023 from fairchildbooks.com?  

No, you will continue to have access to any ebooks or STUDIOs purchased from www.fairchildbooks.com. You will now be able to access these materials on VitalSource.  

 

STUDENTS

What are STUDIOs? 

Fairchild Books STUDIOs are suites of online resources designed to complement our Textbooks. STUDIOs come packaged with our electronic and printed textbooks and offer learning tools such as flashcards and self-assessment quizzes. Additional tools may be available for your title. 

If your textbook has STUDIO content available, your access is included in the price of a new book (print or ebook) and does not need to be purchased separately. 

STUDIO access cannot be purchased separately. 

 

Where can I find my access code? 

Your access code can be found in one of two places: as a separate card bundled with your print book, or as a scratch off printed on the back cover. 

Please note, ebooks do not come with access codes as they are not needed to access your STUDIO content. 

 

What is the access code for? 

The access code is needed to access the STUDIO resources that accompany your print textbook. Only students purchasing print copies of our textbooks need an access code.  

If you purchased a print text from your campus bookstore or online retailer, simply redeem your access code directly on the Fairchild Books STUDIO website. 

Access codes are not needed if you purchased or rented an ebook.  

 

How do I redeem an access code? 

To redeem your access code, visit www.bloomsburyonlineresources.com/fairchildbookstudios and click on STUDENT ACCESS on the top right corner of your screen. Click on “redeem your access code” and follow the prompts. 

 

How can I access my ebooks? 

Your ebooks are immediately available to you following your purchase. You can access your ebooks via a browser on VitalSource Bookshelf Online or through the VitalSource Bookshelf App. Note that your account and login credentials for VitalSource.com and VitalSource Bookshelf are the same. If you wish to access your ebooks offline, you will need to download the Bookshelf app, see our Support site for more information. How can I access my STUDIOs? 

If you purchased or rented access to an ebook, navigate to the table of contents, and click on “STUDIO Resources”. You will be automatically directed to the STUDIO page. There is no need to log in. Use the A-Z bar on top of the screen to find your textbook. 

If you purchased a print copy, visit www.bloomsburyonlineresources.com/fairchildbookstudios and locate the title of your book. Click the link and you will be directed to the STUDIO page.

INSTRUCTORS 

What happened to my account on Fairchildbooks.com? 

If you are an instructor who had an active account on www.fairchildbooks.com prior to May 16th, 2023, your Fairchild Books account details and related content have been migrated to www.bloomsbury.com/fairchildbooks. You should have received email communication with information on how to access your Fairchild Books account and content.

If you did not receive this email, simply visit www.bloomsburyonlineresources.com/fairchildbookstudios and click INSTRUCTOR ACCESS on the top right corner of your screen. Sign in using the same email address you were using on www.fairchildbooks.com. It is likely that you will be prompted to reset your password.  

 

What are STUDIOs and how do they differ from Instructor Resources? 

STUDIOs are designed to enhance the student learning experience and include a variety of resources such as flash cards, self-assessment quizzes, and other tools specific to the title.  

As an instructor, you do not need the access code that accompanies your desk copy to access the STUDIOs. Your access to instructor resources includes access to STUDIOs. 

Instructor Resources are limited to instructors and generally include an instructor guide, test bank with answer key, and PowerPoint slides. Other types of resources vary by title. 

 

How do I request Instructor Resources and STUDIOs? 

To request access to instructor resources and STUDIOs, visit www.bloomsburyonlineresources.com/fairchildbookstudios and click INSTRUCTOR ACCESS on the top right corner of your screen. 

If you are new to Bloomsbury and/or Fairchild Books, click “Sign up now” under NEW USER and follow the prompts.  

If you already have a Bloomsbury account or have a Fairchild Books account, log in using your email address. If this is your first visit, you might be prompted to reset your password. 

It is possible that during the migration process your account was not migrated correctly. If that is the case, after you sign in, you will see an error message stating: “[your email address] does not have access to this restricted content. Please click here to login to Bloomsbury.com and request access.” Simply follow the link and complete the questionnaire. Once submitted, your adoption sales representative will approve your request.  

 

How do I access Instructor Resources and STUDIOs? 

You can access instructor resources by visiting www.bloomsburyonlineresources.com/fairchildbookstudios and logging in as an instructor. 

If you do not have a Bloomsbury account, you will need to create one before requesting access to our online resources. See “How do I request Instructor Resources?” above for details. 

 

How do I access my ebook exam or desk copies? 

You can access your ebook in two ways: 

Via Bloomsbury.com: Visit https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/login/ and sign in using your email and password. From “My Account” visit “Exam copies” on the left side of your screen. You will see a list of exam copy requests and links to the ebooks if that is what you ordered. 

Via VitalSource.com: Your ebooks are also available via a browser on VitalSource Bookshelf Online or through the VitalSource Bookshelf App. Note that your exam copies are mapped to the same email address you use on Bloomsbury.com. If you wish to access your ebooks offline, you will need to download the Bookshelf app. Visit https://support.vitalsource.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014105113-iOS to learn more. 

 

I signed in successfully, but I cannot see instructor resources for my title. Where can I find them? 

In rare occasions, STUDIOs and Instructor Resources are published a few weeks after the actual textbook is published. If you need access to instructor resources and they are not posted yet, please contact your adoption sales representative for alternative delivery.
